Medical Travel Companions (MTC) offers our employees 24/7 support for any “walking wounded” employees when they are flown back to town on a crew shift. We have had an average of two employees per month with minor injuries (back pain, eye fragments etc) that required medical attention. The MTC nurses are always responsive within 2-3 hours of the initial call and met the chopper on arrival. This has happened in both regional WA and Vic. The employee said it was so reassuring to have a local nurse that seemed to know everyone at the hospital! “It was like having a good friend when it was really needed ” the employee said.
